The Peninsula Pedallers

Gidday Fellow Cyclists
My Name is Jeff and this is going to be a blog for the Peninsula Pedallers.
I am the current secretary(The fat guy in yellow in the photo)
The lady with me is our current president Raelene.
Our club was formed to encourage cycling on Eyre Peninsula in 2000 .
Our aim is to be an inclusive club which encourages cycling amongst the residents and visitors to the Eyre Peninsula South Australia.
We have several set rides every week .The first being a Saturday morning road bike ride departing the Arteyria Gallery (23 Mortlock Terrace)at 8am .
Our second ride is on a Sunday morning road bike ride departing at 9am from the Arteyria Gallery as well.
Both of these rides go out past the fish factories towards Sleaford to the end of the bitumen with a distance of approx 45 kilometers.
After these rides we do what all good cyclists do after a ride and return to one of our club's sponsors Del Giornos coffee shop to have a coffee and chat.
We have a regular beginners ride on a Tuesday morning at 9.30am also departing from the Arteyria Gallery. This is the perfect place for cycling beginners to start riding. There is lots of encouragement and help getting started and we only ride at the pace of the slowest rider.
This is a shorter ride, with the group usually only going to the National Park entrance. This is flexible though. We have no hesitation shortening the ride to make it comfortable and enjoyable for new riders.
After this ride we return to Cruisers Cafe at the Port Lincoln Marina for a coffee and chat.
We are sometimes met by some of the original club members who can no longer ride.
The Peninsula Pedallers are an affiliated club of the peak cycling body in the state Bicycle SA.
This is the first post in what I hope will be a regular blog covering the activities of the club and our members interests.
Jeff
